10 trends in journalism in 2010

It’s that time of year again…

After a turbulent year in the industry, I’ve had a good think and put together my top 10 trends for journalism for 2010, wrapped in a big shiny positive outlook. But rather than roll out another list, I thought I’d be a bit different and crack out some video. Enjoy!

Well def agree with the first and the fourth prediction.It is about time that all the talk turns into action.

General election will be a catalyst for hyperlocal and getting the general population to re engage with the political process.

The future of news is mobile to a certain extent but let’s not forget the people that are not connected.

Finally I sincerely hope that the word innovation is embedded in journalists next year

You have some great predictions for the new year. I would also include more integration of social media, user-generated content, and raw data into multimedia storytelling. It’s already occurring, but it still has a long ways to go.

Great video and great predictions. I think you’re spot on with hyperlocal and new business models, I think more and more hyerplocal start-ups will find their business model and start making some money (not loads, but enough to live on).
