How to push the boundaries in online magazines

Posted in Journalism by Adam Westbrook on March 18, 2010

Not long after I suggested the digital magazine could hold a key to the future of journalism, there’s some great stuff being done by the more forward thinking magazines out there.

Really great stuff.

VIV Magazine have pushed the boundaries to produce this visually stunning digital interactive, which will headline their first iPad edition as soon as the device is on sale.

Before you go, check out the behind the scenes video of how they put this together. They used the RED camera, against a green screen to film their models at a high frame rate. Sure, this set up is beyond the average weeks work for many magazines, but VIV have got the right ethos.

“…we are not doing motion for motion sake….Motion allows us to enhance the story…What is important is it works to serve the bigger story.”
