Great post, Adam! Everything was extremely well said. I would add that graphics and interactivity are best at explaining dense, confusing data whereas text is worst for this. I would urge you to consider a further post breaking down the “information” sector … when is it useful to use a map, or a graphic, or a 3D model, etc?

As you say, this post is about the best ways to ‘sound off’ rather than to gather.

But I can’t help but agree with you Winchester Journalism…is there too much of a focus these days on producing the final product than getting the facts in?

I think ‘information’ is implicit in all the mediums Adam explores.

Adam you have a wise head on young shoulders and a brilliance and explaining things simply that comes from working in commercial radio.

This is the best post I have ever seen on the matter and essential reading for students and practitioners alike.

Video, Audio, Graphics and ‘Text’. But surely something is missing here – ‘Information’. It is not about wriitng, but about finding things out. Harry Evans’ words are still worth quoting – It is easier to sound off then find out’.
